Attitude is Everything
Attitude is the way you think.
Your attitude is something
other people can actually see.

They can hear it in your voice,
see it in the way you move,
feel it when they are with you.

Your attitude expresses itself in everything you do,
all the time, wherever you are.

Positive attitudes always invite positive results.
Negative attitudes always invite negative results.

Attitudes make a difference every hour, every day,
in everything you do every day of your life.
What you get out of each thing you do will equal
the attitude you have when you do it.

Anything that you do with a positive attitude
will work for you.
Anything you do with a negative attitude
will work against you.

If you have a positive attitude,
you are looking for ways
to solve the problems that you can solve,
and you are letting go
of things over which you have no control.

You can develop a positive attitude by
emphasizing the good,
by being tough minded,
and by refusing defeat.

Happy Thoughts from Fresh Elastic for Stretched Moms

If you haven't read Barbara Johnson...get one of her books, a cup of tea and a 5 minute...whew break...you'll giggle through each page. Thank God for Barbara!

  1. Make a list of everything that is preventing you from being happy today. Consider postponing all negative feelings for 24 hours.
  2. Make another list–this time of your blessings. Include everything good that’s ever happened to you.
  3. Give your environment a face lift. It doesn’t have to cost much. How about new dish towels for the kitchen, or some beautiful new bathroom accessories?
  4. Take a walk through a park, or explore a new area. See how much beauty you can find along the way.
  5. Eat foods high in Vitamin B. Avoid foods high in refined sugar or salt. Vitamin B foods (whole grains, fruits, vegetables and meats) are especially soothing. On the other hand, refined sugar devours the B complex vitamins, upsets your blood-sugar level, and predisposes you to nervousness. Salt increases irritability.
  6. Give yourself at least one success experience today. It could be doing exercises you hate or completing an unpleasant task.
  7. Buy a new plant or a bouquet.
  8. Call two favorite people and tell them how much you love them.
  9. Get out an unfinished project and finish it.
  10. Start a new project.
  11. Clean and organize your environment. Attack your drawers, cupboards, and closets. Gather up photographs and put them in an album.
  12. Do an anonymous good deed.
  13. Write notes of appreciation to people who have been a special help or influence in your life.
  14. Visit a friend you haven’t seen in a long while.
  15. Take a friend to lunch. Talk about the good things in the world.
  16. Make up with an old friend.
  17. Realize that having a good day is really your own choice.
  18. Give everyone a smile.

I Have Found Such Joy
-Author Unknown

I have found such joy in simple things;
A plain clean room, a nut-brown loaf of bread,
A cup of milk, a kettle as it sings,
The shelter of a roof above my head,
And in a leaf-laced square along a floor,
Where yellow sunlight glimmers through a door.

I have found such joy in things that fill
My quiet days: a curtain’s blowing grace,
A potted plant upon my window sill,
A rose fresh-cut and placed within a vase,
A table cleared, a lamp beside a chair
And books I long have loved beside me there
.
